I have seen it time and time again: children who participate in art programs learn that their work is original and this realization boosts their self esteem and allows them to respect different opinions and ideas. In addition to that, as Einstein said, children become better problem solvers because art adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides but in images, in three dimensions, in their hands as they build, paint, and make decisions about their work.  I have learned firsthand that making art is a form of communicating; making a unique statement that allows us to transform our environment into positive emotions. The question should not be why study art, the question should be, why not study it more…

Why should you study art?
Allow me to start by saying that for me, drawing and painting are like vitamins. I call them vitamin D (for drawing) and vitamin P (for Painting). My theory is: Children who cultivate art, that is, those who receive a dose of vitamin D or Vitamin P,  have a better chance to develop their creative side of the brain as well as an enhance their fine and gross motor skills early in life. Albert Einstein said that imagination is more important than knowledge because knowledge is limited.
